The Big Touch Tournament in Auckland by Eli

On Saturday we went to a touch tournament which included all the representative teams from the North and South Island. We were the BOP (Bay of Plenty) under 11 mixed team representatives.

When we got to the grounds my mum said to put my boots on. I went to get my boots and couldn't find them. I was worried that I'd left my boots in Rotorua, which I had.

But who came to the rescue? My uncle John! He bought me a new pair of boots and came to watch my first game. We beat Thames Valley U11 11-0. I scored six tries.

When we got back to our tent we saw Stacey Jones and I got a picture with him. His daughter plays in Auckland.

Our next game was against Coastal and we saw Glen Osbourne off code.
The coastal team were U13s and we just lost by 1 point, 5-4. I scored 2 tries. The next game was the semi-finals against U11 Thames Valley Team. Again we beat them and went to the finals against North Harbour. The score was 11-2 in the Thames game.

This is it the final against North Harbour. We all had butterflies in our stomach. The game started and were all at our best, but Harbour got the early lead. We scored two tries and were winning the game. We scored another and the hooter went. The next half we scored five tries, but harbour were trying to come back and scored two tries. The hooter went and Harbour dropped the ball and we won the final. We were so happy and screamed " We are the champions!!!!!!
